How I Built This

I'm Nick Castro. I started building with AI in 2025, and this site was my first project. Here's what it solves, how I built it, and what it's done so far.

The problem

Roblox creators get stuck on what to build. A blank Studio project is hard to start, and most idea lists are vague. I wanted a tool that gives a specific idea in one click: genre, setting, core mechanic and a twist, plus a plan for building and monetizing it.

Who it's for

Roblox developers, teens and adults, looking for their next game idea or a name for it.

How I used AI and tools

I built it with AI tools. It started on Replit, then I migrated it to Vercel with this stack:

Front end
React + Vite, with wouter for routing
API
Express, running as a Vercel serverless function
Database
Neon Postgres (saved ideas, Hall of Fame submissions)
SEO
Every public page is prerendered to static HTML at build time
Hosting
Vercel free plan, auto-deployed from GitHub on every push to main
AI tools
Claude, Replit, Grok and others, used for planning, code and content

Key decisions and tradeoffs

  • Leaving Replit's paid hosting

The site started on Replit at $20/month. I moved it to Vercel's free plan with a free Neon Postgres database, so it now costs nothing to run while it grows.

  • Prerendering for search

A single-page React app gives Google an almost empty page. I prerender every genre, topic and blog page to real HTML at build time, so each one can rank on its own.

  • Retargeting from kids to creators

The first version was aimed at kids. The people who actually need game ideas are Roblox developers, teens and adults, so I rewrote the copy and added build plans, monetization notes and design docs for them.

  • Traffic before monetization

I chose not to launch a paid version yet. The focus is getting useful pages indexed and earning visitors first.

  • Loading Analytics on first interaction

Google Analytics was slowing the first load. Holding it until the first tap, scroll or a few seconds took the mobile Lighthouse performance score from 79 to 96–99.

Results so far

  • 8clicks
  • 194impressions
  • 12.4avg. position
  • 37pages indexed

Google Search Console, Oct 4–10, 2026. The site has about 45 indexable pages.
